Opening The Door
Have you ever noticed how few solitary backcountry women travelers there are? I keep passing single men, couples, groups, but almost no women out and about on their own. Many of the women I have talked with who express desire to adventure on their own say they are afraid to do so. Yeah, I get it. I was too. But, one day I woke up and decided that dying in the backcountry was as good a place to head out as any, and began taking wonderful trips near and far. I've never felt better, I've never experienced my worst nightmares out there, and I dearly want to support other women in getting out where they want and when they want.
