When I first discovered this unbelievable canyon, I thought I'd died and gone to heaven. Perhaps I did. Located northeast of Tucson, it is a very sweet combination of miles of stream hiking, glorious canyon walls, and diverse plant communities. We will be staying for 1 night at a lovely retreat center at the edge of the canyon, and then backpacking in for 2 nights to get deeper into the area. The grade is very gentle. With water, shade, and minimal elevation change, this is a hike for the not so hardy.
